Kumari 21F is an upcoming 'A' certified Telugu film directed by Palnati Surya Pratap and produced by director Sukumar who also penned its screenplay. It was co-produced by Vijaya prasad Bandreddi and Thomas Reddy on P.A. Motion Pictu banner. Devi Sri Prasad composed the film's music while R. Rathnavelu and Amar Reddy handled the cinematography and editing respectively.

Production

In late October 2014, Sukumar announced that he would be producing a film along with Vijay Bandreddi and Thomas Reddy on P.A. Motion pictures banner featuring Raj Tarun and Hebah Patel in the lead roles, marking the latter's Telugu debut. Sukumar's regular technicians Devi Sri Prasad and R. Rathnavelu were selected to handle the film's music and cinematography. The film was launched on 9 November 2014 in Hyderabad and on the same day principal photography began ^.The film's title was announced as Kumari 21F and the first look poster was unveiled the next day which confirmed that Amar Reddy is the film's editor and Chandrabose , kk , Ananth Sriram ,Srimani , Ramanjaneyulu would pen the lyrics for the songs.
Sukumar told to Suresh Kavirayani of Deccan Chronicle that the title denotes the female lead's name Kumari, her gender being female and age 21. He added that this is not a female-centric film and both the lead actors get equal importance. In an interview to Behindwoods, Rathnavelu confirmed that the film will be a small quickie whose principal photography would be completed in 45 - 50 days and added that he selected this project to rejuvenate himself after Lingaa (2014) and because of the film's script and his friendship with Sukumar. Heebah Patel reportedly replaced Sheena Bajaj and the filming was announced to begin in December 2014.

Story

Siddhu (Raj Tarun), a youth who pursued Hotel Management wishes to settle down as a chef in a Singapore-bound cruise, happens to meet Kumari (Heebah Patel) who is a Model. Kumar is out-spoken & very friendly by nature. In the first meeting itself, Kumar proposes to Siddhu but he doesn't take it seriously. As days passedby, They get much closer and the same time Siddhu has got his own doubts on whether he should love her or not. Kumari's bold attitude & Advices given by Friends put him in a big dilemma. Its then Siddhu comes to know about a shocking truth about Kumari's past. How did Siddhu react to it forms the rest of the story...!

Performances

Raj Tarun carries the whole film on his shoulders. He exhibits innocence, confusion & honesty superbly. Especially, The way he emotes in Climax is worth applauding.
Heebah Patel has been a huge asset for 'Kumari 21F'. Her Cute Looks & Glamour Show work big time. Acting-wise, She does a decent job.
Playing a role with grey shades, Noyal breathes life into the character. The other two guys in Hero's Friend Batch were aptly cast.

Technicalities

Music by Devi Sri Prasad plays a huge role. While the Songs were already topping the charts, Background Score is even better. Camera Work by R. Rathnavelu is top class. Dialogues were bold & hard-hitting. Story, Screenplay & Typical Characters designed by Sukumar will offer a new experience. Even though Palnati Surya Prathap is the Director of 'Kumari 21F', Audience get the feeling its a Sukumar's film and that's the impact of his writing. Making Standards were Damn Good.

Analysis

As expected, 'Kumari 21F' is a bold flick which connects big time with Youth. Sukumar conveyed a hard-hitting message with ample dose of entertainment. Content-driven films are rarity in TFI & 'Kumari 21F' is one such product which reaches its target audience.
The Message is straight & clear - Love a person the way he/she is unconditionally..Accept good & bad in them..Trust is utmost important in love. At the same time, Sukumar added adequate mass masala elements keeping commercial prospects in mind.
Audience could find Sukumar-mark in every frame, right from the title cards in 'iPhone' format. Heebah Patel takes the lead in the First Half. Heroine's Characterization is entertaining but Heebah Patel goes overboard at times. Logic goes for a toss in few sequences but the entire first half is racy and entertaining.
Focus is more on emotions in Second Half and hence we get a feeling it is a bit slow paced. The discussion about love-trust-maturity is boring to some extent. However, All the short-comings have been overcomes with a stunning Climax block.
